One day the piper came down the Glen…

Good evening! First of all, I would like to inform you that I have birds in my woods making noises like banshees being brutally murdered. Ah, the joys of living in the rural South.

Secondly, and most importantly! When empressearwig mentioned an Anne of Green Gables reread a bit back, something came up about a Rilla of Ingleside dream cast. She brought it up ( Read more... )

Ah, first of all, Anne of Green Gables is one of my *favorite* books!!!! I've loved it since I was little and have read it I don't know how many times. (The movie is one I have also seen countless times and Gil was one of my first crushes.)

I should re-read Rilla of Ingleside, it's been a very long time. Love this casting...Anne and Gilbert's children are so good and Rilla especially. Great job on this! Can they actually make this movie now? LOL.

I cannot take credit for Rilla-- she was already up on empressearwig's list and I simply could not replace her with anyone else when it came to mine. But Karen is utterly perfect.

These books are so magical and wonderful, and I really wish they would make Rilla of Ingleside. As I've said a million times, Jonathan Crombie and Megan Follows are totally the right age now, and Kevin Sullivan can just retcon that piece of crap Continuing Story into nonexistence and give us the real thing.

IDK why he isn't doing it, tbh.

Oh, it definitely could be done. I was never really sure why they deviated from the books anyway...I mean LMM wrote a beautiful life story for these two.

I finally got to go to PEI a couple years ago, and to see where LMM got her inspiration is just beautiful.

P.S. - Such a great scene - your icon. Makes me smile seeing it! :D

I literally have no complaints about the way Anne and Gilbert played out (in the books). Their children I could tweak a few things about, mainly Walter dying, but then I understand the realism of that, so.

I have always wanted to go to PEI. And I will. One day.

It looks so good!

I cannot take complete credit for Karen as Rilla, I wish I could. I was bemoaning not being able to think of redheads in Hollywood and torigates put her name forward. And it was perfect.

I'm so glad we did this!

Well, Karen is just simply perfect, so. No arguments from me
about that.

I am glad that you like it!! I am so super glad that we did this, it came together even better than I'd hoped it would.

OMG I love you!
Rilla of Ingleside is my favorite book out of the series next to Rainbow Valley! It always made me so frustrated when people didn't finish out the series. Anne of Green Gables is good, but the books that came after it were even better! L.M. Montgomery is truly a master of storytelling!
P.S. Una is one of my favorite characters and I love who you've picked for her. Emily Browning is perfect.

Thank you! I'm really glad that you like it. I know so many people are attached to the vision they've developed in their heads over the years (I am one of these people) so I'm glad these kids work!

Una is actually one of the ones I'm proudest of, apart from the twins. Emily just has those really big eyes.

I'm sorry, I have no words for how awesome all of it is. I was getting progressively more excited with all of them - Karen Gillian! Thomas Dekker! But then Armie Hammer KILLED ME DEAD. That is the perfectest idea and how much can I pay whoever to make it a reality? Thank you so much for doing this. I truly adore it.

I need to shoot back over to empressearwig's post to see who suggested Armie Hammer, because I haven't been able to get him out of my head as Ken ever since.

I love love love these kids, and so I'm glad that everyone else is liking them too!
