I'm glad that worked out for you! Smartphones can be such a pain...
I wish I could do something of the same with my Motorola Cliq - I was thrilled with it for a few months because I'd never had a smartphone before, then I realized how much it sucked. I think it was discontinued not long after I bought it, Motorola is slow with upgrading the OS, and it loses any changes I try to make to people on my contact list as well as not being advanced enough to run a good chunk of the apps I want. I can't even mod the phone to upgrade the OS and make it run the apps I want - no one has successfully gotten a newer OS to work on the phone yet. And the touch screen's responsiveness sucks.
Unfortunately, I can't justify replacing a $400 phone in under a year when it still (technically) works.
Shit, I went to Best Buy tonight, to purchase a few things for the new laptop. Only to find a new ereader that does everything the NookColor does and for $100 less. Plus it was on sale for $20 cheaper than that. It is run by the android program which is great, and can read many styles of ebooks. I was super pissed. I almost drove to the store to yell at someone. I mean WTF, B&N was backing this brand of ereader, who the hell endorses there significantly cheaper competitor? I fucking hate B&N right now. I want to burn their stores to the ground.
