Nah, I used some really weird oil based lube and you're just not supposed to, oh shit, ha, jk. Umm...it was a gradual progression due to many, many head colds.
doing that weird blowing thing where you plug your nose and practically give yourself an aneurism. You know, the thing your parents teach you to do on airplanes when you're little and the pressure is freaking you out and chewing gum isn't working.
Btw, even tears of the tissue lining the inside of the ear (and before the eardrum) can really fuck up your hearing short term, so even though it will prolly heal on it's own, don't be discouraged if it's taking a while.

That's called a Valsalva maneuver.
