Journaling again

I'm inspired by clevernonsense and his continuous stream of projects. I think it would give me inspiration and make me more productive if I posted my own.

Current project: Coffee table with corks.

Niiiiiice! I love seeing my name referenced :P

I like that coffee table basic design, and I think I might use it for a few projects I have in mind (no corks, don't worry!)

Jig saws come in handy around the house! You can use them with a "ruler", fyi, to make straight cuts. They sell special aluminum rails, but even another board will work well in most cases. But there are jig blades that will cut metal, can punch through material, make winding cuts (hence "jigsaw puzzle"), etc. It's a handy tool to have.

Looking forward to seeing the final product!

Also, fwiw, there exists these epoxies that are supposed to work a little better, like acrylic, so they start off almost as liquidy as water but then solidify. I have no experience with them but may be experimenting soon!

I tried using a piece of wood as a guide for the jigsaw, and ended up with a cut that wasn't as straight as just eyeballing it. The blade would bend and waver side to side and when using a guide, I couldn't correct for it.

yeah they can still be tricky depending on the grain of the wood and type of blade
