I cannot map this city. If I walk the streets arbitrarily, with no agenda, then I learn nothing. We have enough maps of the supposed physical layout anyway. And if I try to map distance between locations I find myself picturing the locations in my mind and arriving that way, in a manner that defies cartography. So I am starting to see...I am sure it does but not any way that I can see. The more I try to apply my knowledge the more I find myself going in circles.

I would almost try to relate the method of travel here to slispace but yet it isn't. That is the closest concept I can come up with.

It almost ain't worth it. I know you've got to figure out something to do here to keep from going mad, but if you try and prove something about the City, it'll catch on and change just to bugger you off.
