dreams or visions (possibly religious)

i: dykes made me think of offa's dyke, which is in west shropshire separating england from wales -- but this might also be something to do with the netherlands land reclamation project
ii: isn't this revelations (ie st john the divine)?
v: disraeli? (this is a wild guess, i don't even know what school he went to)
vi: this is a famous miracle christian vision whose name i momentarily forget (the lady is mary)
vii: saul of tarsus aka st paul

on ii. yes by St John, but also earlier in the bible by Ezekiel (his vision by the river Chebar) - they symbolise the four evangelists

Yep I was actually thinking of Revelations on iii instead (is Patmos one of the Dodecanese?), but not sure.

x could be St Teresa, as in The Ecstasy Of, located in Rome I think?

vi would be the Iberian town of Fatima, which is why there are middle-aged Catholic ladies named after the Prophet’s daughter.
