the wallis is presumably barnes wallis of bouncing bomb fame, but why "experiment"? in the actual raid the dams were on the ruhr, the oder and a third big german river i can't recall the name of (lol it might be the rhine)

ii. is probably the Malpasset dam, which burst in 1959 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malpasset_Dam
