I got my VVC DVDs a couple of days ago, but Gerry won't let me watch them without him. He's so cute.

I slid my submission for winter_of_wes in just under the wire. It was the only thing I could see getting done in a half a day, so while the style is pretty unremarkable, I thought it still turned out sort of pretty. It's a drawing of Wes and Fred/Illyria's ( Read more... )

It's lovely. I like the simple coloring with the dashes of red. The style reminds me of a children's book actually- I think it was called Blueberries for Sal. Anyway, it really is amazing- I can't imagine the skill that went into it, and that you did it in half a day...wow.

Thanks. :) It really speeds thing up (for me anyway) when I can use an overlay of the reference onto my drawing. And the computer makes that super easy. It's all the hemming and hawing over where exactly to start the next line that eats up the time. Just have to be careful not to fall into tracing it. It tends to be pretty obvious when it happens. :)

Computer's actually easier sometimes. ;) Infinite re-drawing capabilities. And you're not wasting paper, so there isn't as much pressure! The key ingredient is the drawing tablet. Drawing with a mouse is not so much with the fun. And thank you. :) I have to run off and go read the end of Third Chances--I've been saving it!
