Vid Post: A rare fandoms vid! Secret Squirrel - (Starring squirrels! And my cat!)

I was trying to come up with something for More Joy Day, and I decided I could show some video I took of squirrels walking across my back window to the feeder I mentioned hanging. I already had 15 minutes of random squirrel (and cat--Boo Boo was helping me--and dog--Remy was wishing I would stop video taping and take him for a walk) footage. And ( Read more... )

Ha ha ha!

Boo Boo is one frustrated cat. (And those squirrels will be pretty pissed off when the snow melts and their brilliant hiding place is revealed.)

p.s. what were the little birds called, who featured so briefly between squirrel feeder hogging?

His life is very very hard. *g* And yes--the cleverest buggers in the squirrel world, they are...not so much.

The bird in the close-up was a white-breasted nuthatch. They're adorable. They're one of the braver birds around the feeders. Those guys and the chickadees. :) There's some others in the one short shot with a feeder full of birds. Mostly House Sparrows, some Purple and/or House finches, and a couple of dark-eyed juncos.

I shall have to watch a replay for the crowd scene. And your nuthatch is lovely. He has a cousin here:

But I've never see on one on my feeder, sadly. You tend to spot them spirallling the tree trunks in the local park.
