You guys, I love Legend of the Seeker. It's adorable and hot and adorably hotly bad in ways that make me really happy. And Darken Rahl is an elf in his spare time, and Zed is "THE TRAINMAN, OMG HE'S THE TRAINMAN! I WANTED TO BE THE TRAINMAN!" (courtesy of radixiscat), and Kahlan has red curly hair in her spare time (and freckles and cleavage ALL OF THE ( Read more... )

Hee, it's crack, but it's *fun* crack. And occasionally it's slightly dark crack, but mostly is crack full of really pretty people and places and makes me go "Oh, *show*," a lot. ;D

I think everyone who likes fantasy genre TV should at least give it a try. *g*

I tried to stay with Legend...but having read the books, it's really, really hard. At first I was all 'AHAHA this is great, wow it's so wrong.' And then it was just 'Wow, it's so wrong.' And I gave up :(

I have heard it's pretty different from the books. And I have a hard time believing anyone would write in such a vaguely Xena/Hercules-ish way, heh.

And man, do I ever get not being able to get over source text to enjoy a TV show. Off-topic, but I tried to watch Lois & Clark way back when. At first I thought it was cool they were shakin' things up a little, and shortly after I had to stop watching before I broke my TV in a fit of rage, lol.

I think I've let go of that particular grudge (though you'll notice I never even tried to watch Smallville *g*), but I totally understand. And even without the book issue, I think you have to hit this show in just the right mood. I remain unshocked that many people describe it without the "adorably hotly" part before the "bad". ;D

Oh they sure are adorable. Kahlan is really good at playing...well, Kahlan. But after the series is over, go and read the books lol. I think you'd be surprised at the amount they did get wrong. I mean, at first it was fun, like I said, but then it was like watching something where my beloved characters only had the same names as the people on screen (to the point they even made an epically good guy a bad guy; that's when I stopped hee).

Oh and by this point in the books? They could already have sex. yeah. Nuff said :p

Hee, it's TV, no on knows how to write characters if they lose their UST. ;D

And yes! The Sword of Truth books are on my list with the Harris books for when True Blood is over. *g* I don't know why, but it's so much easier to fall for book characters on top of TV characters, as opposed to other way around.

(Hope you and your adorable family are keeping warm!)

It's awesome that you're watching it! :D

The series is thankfully little like the books (I've heard that they're really gory and what not). I love how it can be so cracktastic!

I love when show lets me embrace it with no regrets, and that is *so* this show, hee.

And it doesn't hurt that talented people like you make the fandom so freaking *gorgeous*. \o/

LotS is squeeful good times...brings me much joy! Though the latest episode was fairly dull and would have been improved by wine -- I think you made the right call.

Yes, joy! Even when it does something cringe-worthy (like the who de-aged Zed ep, good lord), I just shake my head at it and tell it to shape up. Much like I do Lily when she's a brat, lol. ;D

And now that you mention it...yeah, wine probably did make last night's move a little faster. *g*
