Skin crawling. This gives the movie the same locked in with them feeling the book had. Blue is very scary, not blue is absurd and vaguely paranoid, often funny but the ending still has that sadness. The sideways movement of Kenau’s blank eyes before he backs out of existence.

Your thoughts on it made me very happy. :} (Sorry it took me so long to mention that, heh.)

This vid was so awesomely creepy. It scared the crap out of me, even while it compelled my complete attention.

I loved how existential it was.

you know, it wasn't really very long ago that I watched this movie, and already, I remember nothing about it other than that I didn't like it very much. At least I don't think I did, but I can't remember why! But watching your hypnotic vid, I remember why I wanted to see it... such an interesting visual technique, and much more visually appealing than that other rotoscoped movie, Waking Life. Anyay, lovely editing as usual, and thanks for posting! ;-) p.s. meant to post days ago, but major attention span deficit in progress! Man, calendar-watching and kick-counting takes a lot of brain power...

I was so psyched when I saw that you were vidding this movie. I haven't seen it but I saw enough of the trailers to know that it was a visual head-trip, and I knew you'd make the best use of those trippy visuals. Needless to say, you didn't disappoint. It's unsettling yet hypnotic. I couldn't look away. By the end I'd felt like I'd taken a journey with the character, which is all that I ask for in these kinds of vids. Great job!

Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts--I'm thrilled to hear the visuals held up and the character focus came through. :)

Lookie here! I've finally gotten to my VVC disc 1 feedback. :D Only three months too late.

I'm a wee bit of a Linklater fan but haven't gotten around to seeing this film yet. After seeing this vid, I think I really need to. Not knowing the context of anything I feel like I can only make quite superficial observations on the editing of the vid, which I thought was superb. I love how playful your editing and musicality is - the song has quite a few interesting layers of music to it, and I love how tongue-in-cheek your musical expression is, through the often very expressive eye and hand movements of the characters. Ooh, and I just loved the fast jump-cutting around the 3:55 mark. Without knowing more about it, I thought this was a fantastic recruiter vid for the film. You've definitely gotten me wanting to see it.

And yet, you're still ahead of me and my feedback attempt. ;)

Awww, thank you. And yay, you nailed the reason I made it, hee. I wanted people to see the cool look of the movie and then check it out. ;D Hope you enjoy it whenever you get to see it. It seems to not be everyone's thing, but I kinda love it. ;}
