Reflections on a subcontinental year

It's been over a year now since we settled into our life in the subcontinent - hard to believe that the time has passed so quickly. Wait, do you mean Hindus invite like random Christians that aren't their friends? I don't really understand what you mean? Just that they don't exclude people from their wedding on the basis of being Hindu/Christian? But they would Muslims?

Yeah, literally. I mean, I think they know each other peripherally, but they make a point of showing up for minority solidarity.

On the other hand, desi weddings in general tend to be huge. We've attended several weddings where we had a very tenuous connection to the couple (i.e. friend of a cousin of the groom).
