Yeah, I think Donna's more concerned about what he'll think she did that she's earned Nerys as a friend. But I'm more concerned about what Nerys will want to do to Donna for nabbing Peter... and whether she'll mistake him for the Doctor.
So I was kinda hoping that Donna could persuade Peter. ;D

Donna's worried that Peter will find out about her past and think badly of her for it. To me, Nerys represents all the things Donna wanted to escape from when she first set out to find the Doctor. It still kills me to think that she had to return to that small, shallow existence when she clearly wanted to do so much more with her life. The lottery ticket seemed like the Doctor's way of not only providing for her materially so she never had to worry again, but also giving her the only means of escape from the confines of a 'normal' existence that he could. And if being that thoughtful and taking care of someone you can't possibly ever be with again isn't love, then I don't know what is.

Oh, by the way, I wonder what book she was reading that she felt the need to hide it when Peter showed up.... I'm sure he'd discover it some time, given the fact that they will end up on the sofa at some point.

Thanks for the comments- I feel pretty good about the next part, since you noticed the book-hiding behavior and I really appreciate that you've stayed with me through this.

Peter's about to find out that maybe Nerys isn't a terribly good friend?
Hmm, I think Donna hasn't gotten too many honest compliments in her prior relationships!
Oooh, yep... and who knows what Nerys will say about Donna! But it's probably best to get the date over with.

Yes, I don't believe Donna has had many healthy relationships in her life. I think her relationship with her grandfather is probably the best and most honest relationship she's ever had.
And the date? It was actually the second thing I wrote for this story and it's one of my favorite parts of the story. Hope you enjoy it when you read it.
Thanks again
