Why do I get the feeling he might not make dinner with Donna's family? I'm nervous about this Tippet guy....

Oh, Donna, tea is excellent, best stuff in the universe. Now where did she hear all that about tea? Glad it helped with those vicious headaches! Ooh, and sticky buns are great, I love them!

["...you were like a stranger and I didn't know what to do. For just a moment, I didn’t know who you were. . . You frightened me to death, and ... when I get frightened, I get angry.”] Exactly like someone else, the parallels are a bit scary.

I'm glad the awkwardness was banished and they were actually able to talk calmly about what happened, not to mention finally pursue their usual activities! No wonder Donna needs Breakfast Tea with caffeine! I bet Peter needs his caffeine, too... they wear each other out, in a good way.

Great how you brought that line from "Much Ado About Nothing" into it!

Oh, ye of little faith. Peter is determined to make a better impression on Donna's mother this time and see what he can do to get more information from Wilf. Don't expect Sylvia to make things easy on him, however.

I'm glad you liked it and I hope you had a great new year.

*blushing over the end* Well... yes, I'm with Donna on that one. *clears throat* Happy Birthday to you, I guess. ;)

They were bound to be uneasy until the dam broke. And break it did... Whew!

Thanks so much for the birthday wishes- I've been out of town for the better part of the past two weeks, but I'm happily home again. (Hotel High-Speed Internet is an oxymoron of the cruelest sort.) I hope to have another chapter done soon. Cue the Dragon Lady's reappearance...

Hope you had a great New Year!

I adore Peter and Donna--and this was lovely (of course!). Donna is such a complicated mixture of courageous and timid--courageous when she's doing something for anyone but herself, but so afraid to see her own worth that she retreats frantically whenever she finds herself in a situation where she'd have to accept that others (esp. Peter) value her. I hope I hope that this reunion has broken through that for her, that she'll really begin to trust that Peter loves her.

Happy new year to you! Thanks so much for this story. Can't wait to see what happens next.

As always, thanks for the kind words. I think Donna had a bit of an epiphany here concerning Peter, enough that she actually starts to take some initiative in their relationship. She's inventive, determined and thoughtful, and she has the bankbook to back up her plans. (This is gonna be fun to write!)

I was on vacation with extended family this holiday, so although I couldn't really get much writing done, I did organize my notes for the rest of the story. As a result, other than getting some costuming done for an upcoming convention, life is actually slowing down to a manageable pace.

Happy New Year to you as well!

So my screen name says Chicago, but that's just where I grew up-I live a lot farther north and west of that now. Where it's 21 below zero this morning with a 46-below wind chill. Have pity on a frozen soul and post something wonderful that would warm my heart, ok? Or actually, something just flat-out hot would be great, too. Would desperately appreciate it!!

I'm working on it, I promise! I have the first draft done and I'm halfway through the cleanup, so hopefully by the end of the week, I should be posting. I wish I could write faster, but my brain just doesn't work that way.

As for wonderful... I'll leave that for you to decide. The next part hopefully will warm your heart but I doubt will do any other heating functions, but be warned- those handcuffs will be reappearing in the near future.

21 below?!? You can't even walk outside without risking instant death! I just yelled at my coworkers and told them to stop complaining about our cold-for-us temperature of 31 degrees. Stay warm and safe!
