I...I think I love you. I need to get on a similar post to repay you for this one because oh my, there is so much here I didn't know existed! Sara Slean covering "Climbing Up Walls" (my, shuuuush, favorite Radiohead song, now with pretty, breathy girl vocals: yes please.) And ESPECIALLY the Joanna Newsom covers because I adore her songs in theory, but am physically unable to actually listen to them all the way through. This solves that problem nicely :D

HEE. I get the Joanna Newsom thing, really. She won me and my sister over by our sheer stubbornness to keep listening until we stopped cringing. *g* But have you tried some of her, uh, little less strident versions of the songs, like in the Walnut Whales and Yarn & Glue EPs?

I really do have a love/hate relationship with covers, but I will probably listen to ALL OF THEM, EVER before I make a decision either way. :)

Downloaded a ridiculous amount of these, thank you for posting them. Typically, I don't like cover songs if they change things up--I have issues with knowing a song for years, knowing every nuance and word and beat and someone coming along and changing that--but I love to try.

I have some good covers--probably from you--so I'm hopeful. *crosses fingers*

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with covers, especially when it's my favorite songs, but usually the ones I love the most are those that change the original song *completely*. I dunno, I feel like -- if you're gonna record a known song exactly like it was before, what's the point when I can listen to the original? :)

Well, you know I'm gonna grab just about all of this. I am sort of a little giddy at the mere thought of that Smiths cover.

Also! Jenny singing! There is not enough Jenny singing in the world!! :D

Truestory: my thought process while compiling the Decemberists covers were basically "OMFG I WONDER IF HEATHER HAS SEEN THESE?!" Seriously. :D

And YES to Jenny singing! I wish she would sing a whole lot more, her voice is so adorable!
