Guys, Glee has taken over my life. SERIOUSLY. How is it that *one single episode* has had me head over heels like this?!

Incoherent Glee ramblings. )

Hee. Will sure do. One of these days I'll set up my delicious account properly, but for now I'm adding the fics I find to my memories [though I haven't read everything yet].

Have you read this one? It's the only one I've read so far because it showed up on my flist. I'm gonna have to try these.

I'm not 100% sure about Finn/Rachel yet, though. I just can't seem to get a good feel for Finn, he's such a nonentity. I tend to fall for the guys who are emotional - often too emotional for their own good, sometimes to the point of stupidity. And their relationship with the other half of my OTP often starts out contentiously, transforming somewhere along the line to out-and-out puppy love (though it's usually a puppy that bites ;-). And I just don't see Finn in that role. Unfortunately. Maybe Puck...?

Oh, I forgot that one. Gonna ETA the post, thank you! :)

See, the thing is that I'm ALL. ABOUT. Rachel. I already know I'm gonna watch the entire show from her POV, and since it's clear she's got her sights on Finn right now... where Rachel goes, so goes my nation.

Also, I have a stupid crush on Cory Monteith [and I don't have to feel bad about it because he's like, 27 in real life. *g*] -- the dude is SO ridiculously dorky on interviews and on his twitter, I can't help it. I admit on first watch Finn didn't really register on my radar, but after watching the pilot so many times [I lost count, really], he completely won me over. It's his face when he says "I got the music". Hee.

Rachel is my favorite, but I think the difference is that I don't always want my favorite to get what she wants. Usually, that means an ordinary life, and an extremely boring show. Now, Rachel is already one step ahead of the game in that she wants an extraordinary life, but I'm not so sure her secret dream isn't to be the girlfriend of the quarterback, being one of the cool kids - i.e. living an ordinary life.

And to me, that journey is boring.

The journey to coming to terms with who you really are? And learning to love the extraordinary life that doesn't necessarily mean being popular? That's the story I'm constantly searching for (and is probably why I'm so drawn to high school stories - being popular becomes less of a big deal as you grow older.)

I get all that, I just... am currently not even thinking that much about where the show might go with its story, really. I truly have no expectations other than awesomeness.

I don't know, I'm trying not to hope for stuff to happen, because the one base of comparison I have is Popular [I've never seen Nip/Tuck], and if there was one thing about that show that I loved, is that it had these incredibly clichéd characters but the storylines would always turn them upside down and I could NEVER figure out where they would end up.

I do have to admit that even though I've watched one too many US high school shows, I always feel A LOT disconnected from the HS system itself -- I've never experienced it, and HS around here works a lot differently, so unless it's Joss doing his HS as a metaphor thing, I pretty much ignore the implications of setting the story there.

I had the same reaction regarding the adults vs the teens. I'd seen so many people lose it over Will I assumed I would too, but it ended up being Rachel that I went cuckoo for. This is the first time I've immediately latched on to a young female character in a long time. IT'S NICE.

THIS, RIGHT HERE. YES. I thought it was just me, but YAY STEPH! I am so fucking crazy about Rachel, I don't even know where to start. I just want more and more stories about her. And I KNOW right now that I'm gonna watch this show from her POV, and just the idea of that sounds pretty fucking brilliant to me. I feel like she's my pièce de résistance amongst young female characters. :)
