They killed him IN THE COLD OPEN! Or, at least before the opening credits rolled? They didn't fuck around, did they? Of course, not until they spent 30 seconds showing the guy where he'd end up being buried.
This makes me want to whine and cry John Connor-style. :(
It was the longest cold open ever, but yes, the credits only came up after Derek was dead. Dammit. It was so fucking fast I actually had to rewind to be sure of what was happening. GAH. I simultaneously HATE and LOVE this show A LOT right now. :(

I'm so happy you said that. I was just wailing about the fact that this show made me love Brian Austin Green 'cause I never really watched 90210 and now Derek's all dead in a totally boring way and I just want to see him on my screen again. And now you've told me he'll be on this JDoh show and I am so happy.
The show is Body Politic. Nothing seems really official yet -- and of course for now it's just a pilot. But it does sound pretty interesting [Though it might be my love for Tim Matheson speaking *g*].
I'm still feeling like I lost a friend or something. :( It was so damn sudden that I ended up rewinding to be sure and now I hate myself for making me watch it twice. GAAAH.
Eu fiquei tão chocada que eu passei o resto do episódio sem prestar atenção direito [okay, era 1 hora da manhã e eu estava bem mal de gripe ontem mas mesmo assim!]... não deu nem tempo de odiar ou pensar nada além de OMG Derek nooooo. E o pior é que como ninguém chorou direito, eu não consegui chorar também e isso é péssimo. Acho que eu preciso rever pra ver se choro da segunda vez, mas ao mesmo tempo, do not want! :(

I keep thinking that the last time anyone had a meaningful talk with Derek it was Sarah telling him she didn't really trust him and gyaaaah. The fact that they had that conversation while standing in a cemetery should've been telling, but I completely missed the signs.

I'm actually pissed off. He was my favorite character in the show! Sarah just keeps getting annoying, and I just can't help but think his death is partially her fault. I thought Charlie was the only one we'd see go.
Now we have lost Derek, and he was saving a T-1000's daughter - ok, if you really think about it, he was saving the last survivor of a family killed by Skynet, but still...GAH! They I can't believe that they killed him, we've got to have another future!Derek come back! XD

Derek wasn't my favorite character, but it still broke my heart, yes. :(
Though I don't think Sarah is annoying [I understand her so completely it's scary. I might have over-identification issues, even.], nor do I think she had any fault in anyway in Derek's death. He was a soldier, he knew the risks, how many times did he say he would die for John? And that's what happened.
