I'd love to know what it is about that particular show that makes people forget all about being courteous about spoilers. I pretty much expect to get spoiled for it at this point.

UGH. YOUR COMPUTER. I'm really sorry to hear you're having so much trouble. It seems like it's been a long time since you haven't had to deal with that kind of thing.

I don't know what is it about HIMYM that makes people spoiler-stupid either. Even when I'm getting the episode 15 minutes after it aired, there's always someone saying something they shouldn't either here or on Twitter *while I'm waiting for the download to finish*. Gah.

re: my computer -- the worst thing is *not knowing* what made it crash last night. Other than that it's been working great today. Tomorrow's gonna be the real challenge though, 'cause that's when I'll have A TON of work to do. Fingers crossed for me! :)

I'd like to jump in (hi, Steph!) and go hell yes, because even though I don't watch HIMYM, every week I get spoiled for it. It's so WEIRD. All the other shows, people are courteous about cutting and labeling, but with that one, within minutes, spoilers. One day I will watch that show. Hopefully wiping everything I've been spoiled for out of my memory!

I don't understand it either. And it's always like, 5 or 6 spoilery posts at once. I've come to a point where my Monday night flist filter is pretty much made of the folks who only watch Stargate and music comms!

Why do people suck so much when it comes to HIMYM? Is it because it's a sitcom?

I just know that when Barney and Robin get together I'll know hours before seeing the episode. :/

I don't know if it's because it's a sitcom [I mean, The Office and 30 Rock don't get this spoiled, do they?], or if people just don't care *because* it's HIMYM.

I guess the problem is that if a single person had posted the video link, I'd probably skip it and be fine? But when you see a bunch of posts about the same thing, it gets obvious that it's a big spoiler.

All I know is that I'm gonna make an even more ridiculous HIMYM-safe filter that I'll keep reading until I'm able to watch the episodes.

Hee. I really like cursing people with annoying yet non-threatening diseases. :)

I can't really say for sure? But for the past two days my connection seems fine. And the computer has behaved himself pretty well all of today, so let's see. Now comes the waiting game.

BTW, I totally didn't forget I promised you icons and banners and whatnot. They will come soon[ish]! Photoshopping for fun [and for you] is gonna be my reward to myself after all the suffering the computer gods have put me through. *g*

edit: I forgot! You saw the MacGruber faux-ads, right? 'Cause in one of them they're in an illegal SUPPLY SHIP and when that showed on the screen I had a ridiculous moment of "OMFG KATE SHOUT OUT!" :)

I have a flister that posted the vid too. Despite having seen the episode already I was still shocked to see it posted all willy nilly a DAY after the ep aired. Irritates me much in the way that an ep post put behind a cut with like "OMG I LOVE THIS SHOW SOOOOOOOOO MUCH" along with the corresponding 'ship or character icon AS THOUGH WE WON'T KNOW WHO THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT irritates me.

People suck.

Man, I saw at least five posts linking/embeding/commenting on the video.

If it had been only one I might have been able to skip it... but when several people go "OMFG HAHAHA check this out!" in a row, then it's obvious it's an important plot point. Gah.
