This election was the easy part compared to the amount of work that it will take for my country to start reversing even part of the damage done in our name by Bush and his cronies the past eight years. But for tonight, I'm just going to be happy.

Yeah, I know. I'm the most pessimistic person in the world re: politics, but just reading the words President-Elect Obama makes me so damn hopeful for the future of the whole planet... I say we all be happy and celebrate for the next MONTH. :D

I had a night like this six years ago when my choice for president got elected here... and then everything went sour, but the point is, I know what this feels like.

And even though realistically the presidency of the US has very little to do with *me*, I can't help but feel that this is what the entire world needs for things to start changing. Finally. :)

Six years ago I voted for a guy who I thought was gonna change my country, so I know exactly how that feels. :)

Of course things here didn't go as well as I hoped, but I am certain that you guys just took the most defining step towards real change the world has taken since May of 1968. YES.
