And I did put the PMP scene in the first list I made [which had like, 15 moments in it], but in the end Detour won because I associate that scene with the Carnival I spent with some friends in BH [Dricks was there!] and we watched the Joy to the World scene about 400 times and we all DIED FROM LAUGHING every time Mulder said "Chorus." HEEEE.
Unnatural is not my favorite ep, but it's definitely my favorite XF script, yup. I *love it* that Duchovny gets M/S better than probably anyone involved in the show. :)
Do you watch any other procedurals? NCIS is so freaking EASY to watch, it's the one criminal geekery show I keep rec'ing. It's also *funny as hell*, which is not something I expected from the show when I started watching.
I always did have a crush on Mark Harmon. Ever since Summer School, hee.
Truly excellent choices, Tissa! IAMSOEXCITEDFORBSGICAN'TSTANDIT but you distract me with silly Nathan Fillion and lovely Mulder/Scully! I am so glad I can always rely on you for awesome.
Dude! Jill, you have no idea how HARD it was to come up with those five episodes. And then to decide on a very favorite one? Gaaaaah. I ended up going with Colonial Day for the single reason that I watched that ep more times than any other BSG ep. Heh. *g*
I'm trying to not think about the premiere tonight because I have massive amounts of work to do today, but I'm failing massively at that. ZOMG NEW GALACTICA IN LESS THAN 12 HOURS! AAAAH!
Your top 2 M/S moments would not be on my list (...I know), and I'm not sure I'd put the others in the same order, but BUT: "Why don't you go gome and get some sleep" will never not be crazy adorable.
I'm so sad your lists are drying up. It's the only reason I've been checking LJ daily this week.
My list ended up being more different from yours than I thought it would be, because I kept on finding new moments. Even after I cut out those that are more *Mulder* moments than MSR moments.
And really, my lists of favorite emotional moments are usually on the strange side, because I don't like the BIG ones, generally speaking. I mean, I do like them, on first watch. Then from the second time on I'm too embarrassed to even look at the screen while they're happening. Which is why the hallway scene doesn't make it in. It's amazing, but my brain totally ruins it every time. Stupid robot brain.
5. Scully shoots Mulder, AnazaziFirst #5 was the ending of Irresistible. Then the drooling in the car in Pusher. Then that bit in Bad Blood where Mulder gets all up on Scully's business and tells her she's afraid to tell the truth and look like an idiot and Scully is all, "so why don't you tell me what you think happened, IDIOT?" -- what can I say, sometimes I really love Scully. Then I thought about Mulder's bee pollen "monologue" in Dreamland

Okay, now I don't understand how your brain pulls you off emotional stuff and yet you watch FNL and Skins and Everwood which are like, one gut-punch emotional moment after another. You're weird. :P
But I love your list, the Sleepless conversation is great. And I love how they sort of mirrored it in Tithonus. "Hi, my name is Fox Mulder, we used to sit next to each other at the FBI." *g*
I'm still not watching XF2.
I'll only see it if I know what happens beforehand [read if M/S have a happy movie ending. I'm not watching anything that's even remotely ambiguous]. But if I do watch it, I wanna see it opening day. So here's my plan: Worldwide release = Australia gets it 24 hours before us, which gives me more than enough time to hunt down reactions and make up my mind. *g*
The line that always gets to me is "but you saved me!" He says it as if it's the most obvious thing in the world and yet the one thing he never admitted even to himself because Mulder has never needed anyone this much and now he does and hello, this is ME DEAD ON THE FLOOR.

Except, perhaps, I would insert the little dance from The Post: Modern Prometheus somewhere. *glee*
