Would you mind moving the ETA to the top of the post rather than the bottom? I'm trying to remain unspoiled for S5 (especially as I haven't finished S4), and want to comment on the other part of the post. With the spoilers at the bottom, though, I can't help but see them, while if they were at the top, I could just not scroll up.
Anyway. Ahem.
I agree with you about the leaving thing. I probably won't leave when fandom leaves, as half my flist is non- or only marginally fannish (I was on LJ for years before really moving into fandom), but I'll go where fandom goes. I don't like IJ, though--it's not better than what we have, and there's the stuff you mentioned above, as well. Plus it's ugly. I need to customize my way out of seeing Squeaky, which'll take some effort.
All of this reminds me of something I've been wanting to tell you for a while (I have a feeling it'll make you laugh). *rustles up your e-mail address*
But errands first. *cackles* (I have to temper the sweetness somehow.)
Sure, the spoilers are at the top of the post now. Sorry about that, I ended up writing more than I would normally have about those.
With me it's the other way around -- I got an LJ because I wanted to read the fic and then I made a bunch of non-fandom friends. And all my RL friends got LJs as well. So if fandom moved I'd probably have to manage two different places [which is not something I actually want to do, but hey, I will go where fandom goes.]
Also, I'm at dtissagirl At gmail.com. I'm dtissagirl everywhere, really. :)
I'm in the same boat WRT a diverse flist, and also don't look forward to having to manage multiple places. But such is life, and the friends are worth it.
I wish I could just up and quit it, but on the other hand, I wanna keep up just so I can read the meta/snark that will surely come out of it.
But I'm trying to spin it neener-neener way: maybe they were *counting* on Torri/Elizabeth and they couldn't change that particular script because it sets up a season arc? So, you know, GO TORRI for helping sink this ship even further than we first thought? Hee!
Heh, I read that spoiler and then read your comments, knowing that you'd be incandescent. You're right, it's not a good way to treat such a sensitive subject, but I can't help liking the premise, if not the excecution...
I'm trying to spin it somewhat [mostly because I will watch the trainwreck, so I need to fanwank it or I'll die of fury *g*], so maybe they counted on having Torri back and this particular storyline relied on Elizabeth, and they couldn't change it because it spans more than a single episode. I still think it's gonna suck, but I can try and see that they wrote themselves into a corner and this was the only way to get out of it.
