Everyone has linked it for a good reason: if you're a part of fandom, any fandom, JOIN fandom_counts. Also, it's kinda awesome to refresh their userinfo every ten minutes and see the number raising by the hundreds.

Also also, take a little bit of your time to fill out this poll over at fandompays.

Backing-up your LJ should be a habit, really: ljArchive [for PC users], Read more... )

Thanks for linking. The number count is mind boggling. Oh, fandom. ::loves::

Also, is it weird to say that the ljArchive is like crack? Or at least I had too much fun last night easily searching through old entries for the weird crap I used to post.

In the midst of all the shit, it warms my heart to see fandom united, possibly for the first time ever. :)

And YES re:ljArchive = crack. Everytime I update my backup I lose *hours* of sleep re-reading posts and comments.

Patrulhamento hipócrita!

Eu li hoje seu post sobre todo o burburinho, mas juro que preferia não acreditar. :/

Já me inscrevi na comunidade.

Hee. Someone on my flist posted THE PERFECT QUOTE the other day:

if they took porn off the internet, there'd only be one website left: www.bringbacktheporn.com

since you're the technical godess on my flist, i figured i'd ask...LJArchive? no werky for me.

it syncs up the Sync Index, but says it can't connect to the server to download any of the actual entries. *wonders if LJ is secretly disallowing access to the server so we CAN'T leave* *cries*

it's not that complicated of a progam, but maybe i'm doing something wrong? the only thing it asked me to fill in was the username/password and the website i wanted to download from.

Did you manage to get your LJ backed up? The slowness of the LJ servers during the past few days was making it impossible for many people to get ljArchive to connect... but I think everything is working fine [or not so horribly?] now.

y'know, i haven't gotten it to work yet. i have a feeling that it has something to do with my .NET passport thing which i can't upgrade becuase i don't have service pack 2 and don't particularly want the evil thing. i'll just have to find another archiving program :) thanks, though! i apreciate you trying to help.

Anytime! The other option I know of is LJBook [http://www.ljbook.com/ljbook.html], which makes a .PDF of your journal. I don't think that one needs the .NET passport thingy. :)
