I couldn't sleep the other night [shocker!] so I finally made some progress on the Great Music Project 2007, which basically translates to turning every single CD in the Kezen-sisters household into MP3s, and then tackling my father's records when I'm in Campos. [Now that he owns Mr. Scarily Fast Supercomputer I can do that without sequestering ( Read more... )

cds, tv: stargate sg-1, jakob dylan is pretty, radiohead, i might be insane, music is my radar

If Ju becomes the third person to finish 8 seasons before getting around to just those other 4 ones of that other show, I will... well, I won't do anything, really.

"one-of-a-kind Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young CD"

You do know you have to share, right? Just saying.

""

Yes, you do. You know what's cooler? Both my sci-fi!freaks of parents asked whet that was when I arrived with the box yesterday, and they were like, ooooh, I remember that movie, I'll have to watch this show sometime. Which I totally will make them watch with me, and then they'll want a box for themselves, and they they will buy and I will steal it. It is all already planned in my head.

And maybe I shouls tell Clara that I will watch the other show! I will! I even asked Tissa if we could schedule a day to watch a few episodes together! I did! Don't be angry, Clara! I will eventually kidnap your season 2 CDs!

[Heee! The icon you mentioned!]

Oh, for sure, the deal with ripping my father's CDs is so I can share the awesome. *g*

HA! Hey, it's real cheap at Blockbuster: SG-1 S1.

Also, I've got all of Farscape in 8 DVDs filled with the .AVIs I copied from Clara, so you can get them from me -- it's probably easier to copy the 8 DVDs than the 44 CDs like I had to do.

if Bruce Springsteen had a son in the music business, do you guys figure he'd sound like Bob Dylan?

I think Son of Bruce's musical style would be considerably more precious and arty than that of his father. I'd imagine him as someone like Andrew Bird! He'd be coming from a stable, affluent background where any musical talent would likely be fostered from an early age (what with both parents musicians and all) and where he'd have the best education money could buy and every possible opportunity. The only back streets this kid would know would be the ones his dad reminisces about.

Hee. But wouldn't it be perfect if he sounded like Bob Dylan? I mean, think of the symmetry! Bob Dylan's son sounds like Springsteen, the other way around should have to happen too. *g*

*facepalm*

A random question like, "If Celine Dion had a daughter in the music industry, would she sound like Beth Ditto?" seemed perfectly reasonable to me. Hee!

Um, I've heard of The Wallflowers but I wasn't aware of the Dylan connection. UNTIL NOW.
