Perks of my job include stopping everything to watch this kind of crap live. So. Oscar noms are out.

I have nothing to say about it except GO TEAM MEXICO.

Yeah.

oscars, movies

I am so cheering for Mexico this year.

*sigh* hopefully I'll be able to see Pan's Labyrinth very soon. There was a line around the block for it last Saturday afternoon. It made me happy.

Oh yeah. I have MAD LOVE for a bunch of Mexican directors, it makes me so happy they're getting the deserved attention. :)

And GO Abigail Breslin. I want Jennifer Hudson to win, but Abigail Breslin is just so amazing in Little Miss Sunshine.

Dreamgirls hasn't opened here yet, so I can't say anything about it. Though it's definitely NOT my kind of movie.

As a musical theatre major, I loved Dreamgirls, although I can see why it's not for everyone. I personally thought it was fantastic and I'm sad it didn't get nominated.

I would love it if Peter o'toole got an oscar, FINALLY. hahahah.

Oh, it's not the subject matter that's a problem for me, it's the format. I usually LOATHE reaching for the stars-type stories, no matter if they're about music or sports or anything. Especially if I get a "lesson" along with it.

I was totally thrilled by the amount of nominations given to Latino films and artists. I thought it was sweet how visibly emotional Salma Hayek became during the announcements.

Yeah, and this time it's not some cheesy Academy idea of honoring the minority of the hour, like they've done in the past. The Mexican dudes deserve the attention they're getting.
