I have been wildly amused at your reaction to this news all day.

Also, I think I would have not had any other reaction to "Gentlemen Jole" than "What" had it not been for your fic. But now I am totally fascinated to see how TitleCharacter!Jole differs from your Jole.

I saw this news and thought of your series, I think you set the standard for Jole. It’s weird though, it started out as total crack ship that featured a character that like had 1 spoken line and the author suddenly brought him back and made it more plausible in cryoburn and CVA and now he’s staring in his own book. I’d love to read more of your series though.

Up until yesterday I would have thought it the case that I had written about 200x more words about him than Lois had, but I guess she also has ideas about him! I AM SO CURIOUS TO FIND OUT WHAT THEY ARE. :D

I JUST SAW THE NEWS AND I HAD TO RUN STRAIGHT TO YOUR JOURNAL because I never ever cared about Jole until one day on AO3 I saw him get hauled off by ImpSec and this perfectly built (fucked-up but sensible) world unfurled with this perfectly Barrayaran (in the curseword sense sometimes) mutual sexual protection society and this brave, adorable character and a Cordelia who sometimes makes mistakes and actually I've been wanting to see them comfort each other after Cryoburn Events and NO ONE I KNOW UNDERSTANDS HOW AMAZING THIS IS. Also, DID you somehow make this happen with your brain (saw Twitter)? Or maybe you're just really good at picking up textual clues about characters being important!

Except the odds are vanishing that I will like this Jole setup as much as I like yours. But OMG. Red Queen? Super intriguing!

Oh and YES PLEASE to the more fic. :D

I am SUPER INTRIGUED about the book! And my Jole will just always be an AU to the real one, and that's fine. :D

(And in retrospect--I suppose really there was no reason for Jole to be in Vor Game unless Lois had some sort of plan for him? He's oddly well-developed for somebody who serves no actual purpose in the story he's present in. And definitely his inclusions in the last two books point to Lois having thoughts about him and what he's up to, so--yes. The cues were there to pick up, I think.)
