What I've been up to: March

So it turns out that once I stop having some specific thing I'm supposed to post about every day I... stop posting. But I thought it might be nice to check in over here at the journals; I still haven't really gotten the hang of actually interacting with people fannishly on twitter/Tumblr, so I might as well stick around here and talk to my fellow ( Read more... )

Well, if it helps at all, I am positively agog to read every single one of the stories you mention. In fact, if you need betaing for any of them, I am happy to volunteer.

As for Teen Wolf, oh my God, this FUCKING SHOW. I don't think I have ever experienced a fandom where I was so intensely invested in a canon that sucks even MORE intensely. The only real pleasure of 3B, in my opinion, was watching Dylan O'Brien act the everloving crap out of being evil, and also watching the rest of the cast nearly succeed at turning the shit Jeff Davis handed them into diamonds, because it is positively baffling how a craptastic MTV show about werewolves managed to snag such an amazing ensemble cast, and they are the only reason I can't stop watching, and sometimes I almost wish they would suck too so I could stop watching, but I love them so I can't.

TL;DR: I am totally right there with you on having a complicated relationship with Teen Wolf. Sigh.

Thank you! I'm close to being unstuck on all of them after a couple of good writing (and, more importantly, deleting) sessions. :)

And, oh, Teen Wolf. I have been in fandoms where I hated the source material before (Due South, oh my god), but never as a live ongoing narrative trainwreck. So this is ... yeah. Complicated.

I'm glad to see you still using LJ. I never really took to Dreamwidth, and I just plain don't get Tumblr, not least because of the nature of member interactions, such as they are.

You make me pretty happy I've never actually watched Teen Wolf, much as I love Derek/Stiles.

Yeah, fanfic is probably really the most pleasant way to interact with Teen Wolf! If I weren't at heart a canon-complying purist I would give up on the show myself, but I have this compulsion to know my sources. Alas.

Thank you for sharing those lines from "Work, Sometimes." I will have to check out that Mary Oliver collection!

I have just read the entirety of The World That You Need, and am EXCITED! that you are writing more Vorkosigan fic. If you want someone to talk through how to get Aral and Gregor to Beta, I would be happy to help!

i have been 'in' tw fandom without actually watching the show for ages and then this past season got up to date and watched along with it airing. so much is frustrating and i just felt a real let down that kate bloody argent is back. *sigh*

having said that, stiles is awesome enough a character (as portrayed by o'brien) and derek intriguing enough, that i will probably continue to follow it just for the little moments of them that we get.

I, yeah, literally freaked out and cried when I heard Kate is back. :(

But, yeah, as long as Stiles and Derek hang in there the show's always going to own a little piece of my heart, so I'm right there with you.
