1. How I FEEEEEL about Jack Harkness is a sort of, um... wry, slightly facepalming affection, not unlike how I imagine the Doctor feels about him
( ... )
4. My unpopular opinion about Jack: I forgive him for Steven. Other unpopular opinion about Jack: much as I loved them together and wanted them to be happy for as long as they could, I don't think Ianto was particularly the love of his life.
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH RIGHT NOW, HOLY SHIT.
I CAN'T EVEN, OH MY GOOODDDD. I always kind of figured I was the only one who DID. Like, when Ianto died, I wasn't sad because 'oh, Jack's alone now', but because I liked the character. And sorry, but with as long as Jack's lived, he's had a lot of loves, and I think he's quite adept at recovering from losing someone he loves. And in a way, that makes him so very similar to the Doctor. And I totally forgive him for Steven too. Just. OH JACK.
And dude, AGREED. Also, Harkness/River Song would be the best ever. BEST. EVER. (Poor Doctor, he would hate them forever.) (well, maybe not forever.)
He would hate them as long as the headache lasted. Or as long as Amy KEPT TALKING ABOUT THEM AND HOW AWESOME THEY WERE AND HOW MUCH SHE REALLY WOULD HAVE LIKED TO GET INVOLVED IN THAT THREESOME JACK SUGGESTED, JUST SHUT UP, POND.
Ahem. Yes. That.
And, yay! We non-haters gotta stick together. Oh JACK.
On 2-- I agree you can't ship Jack/Master any time after "The Sound of Drums." But pre-series con man Jack would have had SO MUCH FUN with Delgado Master.
2. I agree. Jack is soooo easy to ship with practically anyone; at least for a one night stand. Jack is probably horny for anything. Jack's people were probably designed to be that way. One of my favorite lines in Torchwood was between Captain John Hart (who's supposed to be a contemporary of Jack's, yeah?) and Gwen Cooper: Gwen & John are in a car, and John looks out the window and makes a lascivious comment about someone walking down the street. Gwen says, with wrinkled nose (something like): "That's a POODLE!"
Yes! John and Jack clearly come from a very sex-positive 51st Century, and Jack is up for anything, with anyone, at least once. Maybe twice, to be sure.
