Fic: Five Ways Patrick Jane Hasn't Died Yet (And One Way He Never Will)

Words cannot express my totally unhealthy love of this story, which I wrote over Christmas after having lovingly plotted it out weeks earlier. Killing Patrick Jane six times = happiness! Um. For me. Everyone else may find it kind of creepifying and/or depressing.

DUDE I WAS HYPERVENTILATING BEFORE THE STORY EVEN STARTED.

A good performer knows that how he gets off the stage is as important as everything he does on it. This isn't depression. It's professionalism.

I can't even articulate how grand this line is. It totally escapes description. It's ASCENDED AWESOME.

and he can't deny it--he has favorites.

If they need to, when they need to, each can imagine that their own bullet was not the fatal one.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He gives them something to hang on to, in his own way.

If they're all there, then Jane will die surrounded by the only living people he loves. He understands that's the way most people want to die, so it's really not at all odd that it's his favorite of the possibilities.

Yay! Thank you so much! The opening section, especially, was a delight to write--pure crazy Jane POV. (The only problem is that now this Jane is CANON in my head and it makes it hard to imagine any other kind of ending for him. *g*)

Hm, a helmet. I've never had to contend with this scenario. Perhaps a less subtle chloroform rag.

(personally, I think he hides it well but he's batshit crazy and totally off his rocker. That's why this worked so well)

It's like, no, Jane it's not enough for you to have your teammates see you right after you've butchered someone. You have to SCAR THEM FOR LIFE right before you kill yourself! :D

Shit! That is just so freakin' CREEPY! Your incredibly detailed fantasies of Jane's demises are frighteningly real. The very last fantasy of Jane's really made me doubt Jane's sanity. Damn, girl! I think you write better than the Show!
