Stargate Fic: Tell

Ummmm, I totally did not forget for a while I had written this, what, no.

This is a fixit of a fixit, or in other words a sequel to Common Language, a Bechdel Test fixit story I wrote about the kidnapped Air Force sergeant from "Children of the Gods." This will not make a whole lot of sense if you haven't read that ( Read more... )

Aw! I'm still haunted by "Common Language" (so of course this gave me an excuse to reread it), and I'm so glad you wrote closure for poor Stephanie.

I love the wonderful small insights you give to Sam and Daniel's characters here. How Sam feels connected to a fellow sister-in-arms and then thrown into a situation she wasn't prepared for, tries to remember what she's heard and do honor to the uniform for Jessie's sake.

And then Daniel and his whole mixed up complicated situation with Sha're (And she remembered!) and wow Sam wondered when Daniel had started trying to look as tough as the rest of them, and for God's sake why.

Aw! And wow.

Thank you! I really did feel like I needed to tie off those loose ends, and I'm glad this worked for you.

You deserve a commentbox full of praise for all the details I noticed you put in here, the beautiful and painful craft of this story, but I'm too busy crying.

This is a wonderful addition to your earlier story--and I'm so glad that Sha're remembered, and that Daniel understood to pass it on! Your Sam really stands out among the characterizations of Sam that I've seen as being extremely *human.*

Thank you! I was torn, because I wanted Stephanie to find out soon, and I wanted Sha're to remember, so I went with both, and I'm glad this worked for you!
