Maybe because Charlie *knows* he's being crazy, but Fraser is filled with a Pure Love Of Music and has no idea that people are looking at him funny when he sings earnestly in public?

I think part of it, also, is that to the extent that it seems like Fraser is enjoying himself, the joke is on everyone else (everyone who falls for his Mountie facade, everyone who doesn't understand what he understands). Charlie is aware that the joke is on him as much as anyone, possibly more so, and he is laughing at all of it.

Also, huh. I think I've actually only ever seen Damian Lewis in Band of Brothers, but that was enough to cause me to bond to him pretty firmly. OH WINTERS. ♥
