Okay so I have a new fandom. I ADMIT IT.

After the little incident on Saturday when I got completely traumatized by a CSI:NY fic series ending on a sad note (but! as it turns out! the series isn't over! hope is rekindled!) I spent several hours jonesing for MORE CSI:NY which, for various pathetic reasons, I could not lay my hands on

I am really starting to see the appeal, especially after the diner scene in the shooting ep. Also, they are PRETTY and FLAAAAACK is Jimmy the Goalie! So clearly he should be licking Danny all over his body in perpetuity getting laid.

And. Wow. Mac's head would explode. High velocity blood spatter all over our sweet boys, v. v. awkward.

I don't have enough time to keep up with CSI any more, but I love the pretty people on NY. My only, only problem with Danny is that he looks a little too much like my dad when he was younger, except with more hair, and no moustache. Too many slashables lately look like people I know, which is a little traumatising. I'd find me some good Danny/Flack if I ever got around to getting more time.

Oof, yeah, I can see how dad-resemblance would be a mood-killer. I guess you must know a lot of very attractive people? *g*

John Bannerman (Captain Jack on Dr Who/Torchwood) looks ridiculously like a friend of mine who graduated last year.

PC Whatserface from Life on Mars is the spitting image (except with a British accent) of another friend who just graduated.

It's very disconcerting. I'm getting over the JB thing, but I don't have that much time or effort these days.

OK, look. Here I am, all perfectly innocent, coming over to see your LJ b/c I got your response to that comment. And, see, everybody on my flist is always talking about CSI:NY. Well, I mean, iscaris and smittywing, anyway. I have stayed far, far away from the fandom because (a) I got burned by Gil/Nick, which was so so awesome and then Gil/Sara was canon and then Gil was f'ing leaving and then they never had another scene together and it was depressing *uses icon in memoriam*; and (b) I don't have time for another show! I started watching way at the beginning because I have a long-standing Gary Sinise thing and OMG Danny Messer. But it was on at a bad time and I just didn't have time for another fandom and I really still don't but three makes a pattern, you see, so - is this one of those fandoms that is slowly assimilating and taking over everything?

Oh, man, I totally bailed on CSI Classic as soon as I heard about the Gil/Sara thing. It just totally killed all my desire to watch the show. I still miss Nicky sometimes (NICKY!) but then I rewatch Gumdrops or--holy God, I'm blanking on the actual name of the Nicky-buried-alive episode. Anyway, I do that and then I feel better.

But CSI:NY! Yes! With Mac! and DANNY! And this time they're hetting it up and I feel like a loser but I really TOTALLY APPROVE (Danny/Lindsay = LOVE, SERIOUSLY). I don't think it's seriously taking over, like Lotrips and HP eating popslash or anything like that--iscaris is the one who pimped me, too, so I think it's just that your flist is a small world after all. :)
