Having consulted my chat logs, I discovered that this story came out of telling iuliamentis a dream I'd had in which Greg Sanders and Laura Roslin, cylon-like characterbots, appeared on the later seasons of Firefly, which I had not seen but Iulia had. This was really, really good. I enjoyed it. Are you planning on adding to it? The ending was satisfying as is, but I'd definitely like to read more. Well I'm off to read your other CSI stories!

This made me incredibly happy. So now, not only have you written one of the best Due South stories I've ever read (Hawks & Hands), and not only are you such a good author that, even though I much prefer Larry/Charlie, I've read Don/Charlie stories just because you wrote them - hell, I read a story that had Amita in it just because you wrote it, and if that's not some serious respect for an author, nothing is ;) - but now you've written Gil/Greg, and that just makes me... well, to be redundant, incredibly happy.

This line:

"Apparently you want me to be in the backseat of your car," Grissom said, and Greg really couldn't argue with that.

made me laugh out loud, because, yeah, that sounded just like both of them, and because, yeah, who doesn't. That, and the Wizard of Oz discussion, and the Greg abuse, and the end, with the metaphorical and also somewhat literal leap of faith, were just fantastic. Now, I can only hope this isn't a one-off thing.
