Brisbane residents might have noticed the electrical storm that swept over the city last night between roughly 11pm and 2am. I suspect even those in the Brisbane morgue would have noticed, in fact. ..sheet lightning doesn't have the same dramatic photo effect as forked lightning..
My daughter was filming strikes out on her deck when one that *lit up her world* sent her scurrying inside.

And the good part is- our rain barrel is 1/3 full. :-)

I don't think we got that much rain, but it will help my veges survive while i'm in Melbourne ...

It was mostly sheet lightning out here, and heavy rain to the point that heading to my usual hunting ground was a waste of time, but that was a hell of a storm.

The photo of the powerpole is hella cool.

I added a few more. It shows how dark it really was and just how much the lightning was brightening everything up. I really need a tripod though, I'm getting tired of blurring ... I can't hold my hands steady when I'm full of that much adrenalin.

Sadly, I was so tired I didn't notice until the heat from the fan being off woke me up.
