It’s 5:30 in the morning, and I can’t sleep. I’ve been trying since about midnight. Around three, I got up to go to the bathroom, but I’ve just been lying there with my eyes closed, and my brain won’t stop. Every time I think I may be drifting off, I realize my position is rather tightly curled, and I move to stretch out, and end up waking right ( Read more... )

I've thought about enlisting before. I talked with an Army recruiter when I was a junior in high school, I think, but I never signed any paperwork. I ended up deciding that, at the time, the military wasn't for me. Pan a few years into the future, and I'm kicking myself for not being able to get a commission with the Air Force.

At this point, I don't think I could give up everything else I've worked towards and enlist, despite the fact that I think I would do well in the military.

Six weeks at Parris Island though... If you do it, I wish you the best of luck. They say the female Drill Instructors are evil incarnate. Just make sure you can run a LOT (3 miles is the run length for Marine Corps), do 100 of their evil little crunches in a minute, and do a 30 second flexed arm hang.

Well, what with Mom and I going to the gym as often as possible now (which, granted is only once or twice a week), I'm hoping to get in better shape by the end of the year--hoping to get into my ideal weight range (read: lose thirty pounds) by the end of next year too.

Right now, I can't decide which option I want to go with more--or if I want to do two at once (or even if I CAN do two at once). I'm just throwing the ideas out there so that I know I had them and I don't forget that I have those options.

Great to hear from you! :)
