title: Snow author: izzybeth pairing: Ray/Ray rating: PG word count: 1655 prompt: 136. Love sought is good, but given unsought better. Twelfth Night, III. i. notes: many many thanks to taeli and brynnmck for wonderful betas. <3<3<3.
I have to agree with viciouscats, I adore the cosy domestic-ness of this. There are lots of great, well-observed little details like 'He set it upright, pointed at it to make sure it stayed put.' I really love that. ♥♥♥
I don't often read Ray/Ray, but it's lovely to see a relationship that isn't all hearts and flowers but about them both finding someone they can actually live with. I think maybe they're going to wake up in ten years and realise they've been in love all this time.
i love Ray/Ray because they're not all hearts and flowers. i like seeing a more realistic portrayal of a relationship in fic, and Ray/Ray is the perfect pairing to show that. i'm glad you enjoyed! :)
This feels so sweet and so real. I especially love the detail of Ray pointing at the jar of salsa to make sure it stays put. And "mega-familia" is a hilarious word.
Yay for Ray/Ray that does dissolve into heartbreak and hopelessness and hatesex. (Although what kind of weirdo would write Ray/Ray like that? ;-) I love their comfy domesticity, and that they love one another but they'll probably never need to say the words. Everyone has already pointed out the great details and perfect Ray-esque lines, so I'll just add my voice to the chorus and say that this story rules, and so do you.
