Eleven years ago today, I quit smoking. Haven’t had a cigarette since, haven’t come close to lighting up (except in my dreams, and those don’t count).

Anyway, in honor of this lovely anniversary, I’m looking for smoking fics. Don’t bother mentioning Chicago’s Most Wanted; I know it, adore it and have read it far too many times already. I’m looking ( Read more... )

if you read K/V (and if you do, you've prolly read this already), there's a fair amount of smoking in pir8fancier's a year, more or less, in the life.

(and hey! congratulations! also, isn't it funny how the dreams never stop? when i first quit, i would wake up feeling oddly guilty after smoking dreams, but now i kinda like it.)

I have no recs, just a pat on the back and oh yeah, there is no such thing as reading "Chicago's Most Wanted" too many times.

Glad to hear that dreams don't count - what about fantasies? 'Cause I had a real moment yesterday thinking about the whole process of starting a new pack. I blame it on HCL fic, myself.

Well, there is always Familar Stranger by Sihaya Black, which I always think of as CMW's dirty cousin. *g* It's not to my usual taste, but it's a fun one anyway.

I just zoomed past my 15 year anniversary and I only occassionally find myself wanting a smoke. I had quit so many times before that I had no idea when I quit that I'd really never do it again.

Oh, man, I wish. It's been barely five month for me and every time I read a fic with smoking (which is a lot in the dS universe. We won't even talk about HCL...) in it, I get this craving...I've already decided that I'm taking up heroin next time - a much easier habit to kick. I'm really jealous of the eleven and more years some of you have made it... Congratulations!

As for smoking fics, I liked Con Job by keerawa. It's not strictly about smoking, but it does play a significant part in the story. And it's RayK/Fraser.
