Awesome. I like your gen so much, and this is really plausible and interesting.

It really can't be easy being honest when it's kind of ingrained in the culture not to be. And yeah, the last line. Wonderful.

Oh, Ray. And that's not the last mentor of his to fail him, either, what with Kelly planting evidence. Poor man. No wonder he ended up being slightly left of straight. I'm glad I know someone's coming to surprise him. Really nice.

It's actually something of a theme in due South, the way both Rays and Fraser were disappointed by their mentors.

When they're all doing that, why not do just a little bit of this?
