This is really evocative and chilling. The image of Fraser seeing all those dead girls - *shudder*. Really well-written.

Wow. I love this. The structure is beautiful, and so is the language. Though, god, for Fraser to live like that. Here are some lines I particularly loved:

In a quiet room, with low lights. Hasty, circumspect, soft, longing, grieving. Unrecorded.

A storm is never cruel, my mother used to say. The summer has no quality of mercy.

Ray has no need of a ghost. He has me.

i can't even express how beautifully sad i find this.

i cried here, but it was the quiet kind of crying where there is sadness, but the story is also so full of love, and so full of character that the sorrow is somehow, i dunno, mitigated by that and by the tone and the beauty and the fascinating structure. very, very well done.
