I loved Fraser's journal, his love letter to the land. I even looked up saxifrage, so I could see them in my mind's eye. And the way that Ray knew Fraser needed to do this alone, and so let him. *sighs happily*

Everyone should have a Ray. Why should Fraser be the only one. *holds up CLONE KOWALSKI NOW sign*

ETA: I think Fraser likes the saxifrage as much for its qualities as its appearance. It grows best in wild places under harsh conditions, and I think he identifies with that.[/meta]

Awwwwww - such a sweet story! I really like Fraser's reflectiveness and how well Ray understands him.

Yay, thanks! It's weird how Fraser and Ray get each other. You'd think they wouldn't, but they're a lot more alike than we might think. :)

Beautifully written as ever.

Of course it would be more than just picking a place for Benton, and great that Ray knows Benton has to do it alone.

Oh, thank you! I usually dance so close to the border of sap that it makes me nervous, so thanks for saying it's not too sappy.

Also, bonus points for having Ray kissing Fraser as a way to interrupt him AND for having everyone at the bar trying to get a peek at the boykissing. Hee!

Ray says kissing is the best way to interrupt Fraser, because he almost never complains. And hey, I'd be looking out the window, too. :D

Eee, I love this! (Also I love the song 45 Years.) It's so sweet and real, and the natural detail is great. I love how Fraser takes such care in picking out a place to live, and also how Ray has to pull Fraser out the door to kiss him, too.

And Saxifraga oppositifolia! That's a lovely plant--I was collecting samples of it for genetic analysis last summer. *g*

I wanted a section for all three of the verses, but the third verse didn't lend itself to a story (maybe because it could inspire a story all by itself--OMG I LOVE STAN ROGERS SO MUCH).

That's a lovely plant--I was collecting samples of it for genetic analysis last summer. *g*

Fraser would probably love hearing all about it. ;) I don't know if I've ever seen saxifrage. I don't think it grows this far South. Not that New England is very far south, but relatively, compared to the way northern places that you and Fraser hail from (My assistant nurse manager at work is from Norway--I should ask her about saxifrage). The pictures are lovely, though.

Thanks for reading, dear! Next time I'll definitely get my beta act together and will probably call on you. *hugs*
