Thoughts & Questions about Manhunt

I was watching Manhunt last night and a couple of things about it have been bothering me for awhile so I thought I'd see what other people think.

Firstly we have Julie, Buck's daughter. She's not seen Fraser in over ten years at this point. I'm wondering was he a Mountie the last time she saw him? Or was he just newly qualified? Fraser gets his 15 year service star in 1996 so in 1994 he would have been a Mountie for 13 years so in theory Julie would have known him as a Mountie. Even if she didn't no doubt she would have found out. Fraser seems to know about her seperation from Bruce. A fact which in itself is interesting. Who did he hear the news from? He doesn't seem to talk to Buck Frobisher, did he hear from his father? Then we have the question of was Julie telling the truth when she said she wasn't in love with Fraser? Buck's comments at the end suggest maybe she was. If she was she clearly knew that Fraser wouldn't feel the same way about her, or deal with her feelings well. So was she lying to him?

Then there's the issue of the watch. Fraser tells the barge captain his watch was his father's and it was field issue circa 1950. So that was around 44 years ago at the time of the episode. In 'Victoria's Secret' It was established that Bob was 57 when he died and has been dead 14 months: In my 57 years of being alive and my 14 months of being dead. That was in 1995 which means that Bob is most likely to have been born in 1937 but could have been born as early as 1936 or as late as 1938. So he would have been, at most, 14 in 1950 and therefore too young to have joined the RCMP (it also means he was young when he got married and became a father, around 24/25 when Benton was born - assuming Benton was born in 1961). So, is the watch later than 1950? Fraser does say circa, but even so it still seems too early to have been Bob's. Yet Buck also had one, presumably he was given one too. We're never sure of Buck's age. I presume a similar age to Bob Fraser as they both were rivals for Caroline's hand but there's nothing in canon that explicitly states that they are the same age. So, where did the watch come from?

As an aside what was the age at which you could join the RCMP in the 1950's? Now I believe it's 19 but maybe it was lower then?

And finally was there a bit cut out of the fight scene? Specifically Ray's bit. We see him pulling a bad guy over the rail of some stairs and then leaping over that rail with his gun in his hand. The next shot we get of Ray's fight scene he has lost his gun and is reaching for his backup. We then see the bad guy knock Ray over and try to shoot Ray with Ray's gun, which doesn't work, so is presumably empty. Are we missing a bit where Ray shoots his gun? Are we missing a bit where Ray loses his gun to the bad guy? It seems so.
