Email I got from Uber:

"
DELETE MY UBER ACCOUNT

Hi (name) -

You're a valued customer so we're sad to see you go. To delete your account, click here. (This link is valid for 7 days.)

We wanted to let you know that Uber shares your views on the immigration ban: it's unjust, wrong and against everything we stand for as a company. If you want to learn more, click here."

The link went to https://newsroom.uber.com/standing-up-for-the-driver-community/ and I finished deleting my account anyway. I'd been meaning to switch for months and just not gotten around to it... Lyft's donation to the ACLU was the final straw.

On the other side of things, several of the tech folk, including uber, on the policy forum have said they planned a "hey quit that" and uber has announced donations to ACLU as well. This may or may not be because deleteuber was trending. Don't have link handy

Yes, I saw this evening that Uber decided to pitch in. AFAIK their CEO is still on Trump's council. Me-too-ism is nice in this case but it'd be better if they showed some leadership
