I quit smoking yesterday. I've been using Nicorette gum and I have to say the taste has improved since the last time I did this 4 years ago. I don't think it's working very well though, because I really really want to give up.

Summary: How will he know if you don’t say anything?
A/N: Based on this week’s ADWT prompt “you give love a bad name”
Jim slammed his glass of scotch on the table, as he watched Mark flirt with the attractive waiter on the other side of the empty bar. He fumed as his lover touched the other man’s shoulder, concentrating on removing an invisible thread on the pristine white shirt. That was Mark’s trick - he would always touch you, make you feel like the centre of the world, and all that mattered were his fingers on your skin.
Today was their five year anniversary and instead of gazing into one another’s eyes over dinner and wine, Jim watched as cigarette after cigarette would shorten then die, the thick smoke billowing into nothing.
His attention returned to the laughter across the room and he sighed as the two men exchanged phone numbers with an eager promise to call later in the night.
“You give love a bad name,” he had once tried explaining to Mark, but his lover just laughed.
He sometimes wondered what would happen if he told Mark the truth. That he didn’t want an open relationship and wanted it to be just the two of them.
Jim wondered if Mark already knew.
