Artist statement for my thesis project: FML

It's 1:30am, and this is the best artist statement I came up with.

I've never called myself an artist, only a designer. I switched from a degree in psychology to graphic design when I found myself playing with photoshop instead of writing essays, and have never looked back. oooh, I really like this. You are totes an artist, whether or not you classify yourself as such. This statement only confirms that :). It makes me realize that the principles of art are really a part of everyday life--just about every discipline (law, writing, teaching, hard sciences, etc) must utilize available resources (be they words or figures) to sculpt a particular message for a particular audience. In the world of art, this "crafted communication" is exercised to the extreme, so that every level of perception and consciousness is engaged to deliver a message to everyone who interacts with it. Art, when performed with true skill, essentially represents the "zenith" of communication.

Sorry that I get carried away with my commentage :)
