I keep all my morning meds in one pill box on the kitchen counter. Problem was that this last week with the laptop being down my schedule has been "off". Normally, I get up in the morning, fix myself instant breakfast and take my meds while I check my email. I forgot them Sat & Sun when the laptop first went down. Saturday was bad overall and I really just got out of bed only to go back. Sunday I had a "date" with my mom and again forgot about them.
Most of my real meds I take at night and keep in a seperate pill box by the bed. In both cases I usually refill the pill box on a weekly (Sunday) basis.
Paul suggested I count my pills to make sure I take them, but I pointed out to him it's not that the count was wrong, I just didn't take them. They were in the pill box doled out for the individual days, I just didn't take them, for some reason.
Okay, my suggestion now is to get a couple of the inexpensive travel alarm clocks. I think you can get them for under $10.00 each. Have one in the bedroom for a reminder (the regular plug in ones are too noisy, but meant to be that way) so while you are reading, or working, whatever, you will be reminded it is time to take meds, set that one for the latest hour you should take them. AND keep your purse (if you carry one) where your meds are in the kitchen, next to the travel alarm. You can easily throw it all in your purse and go on about your day and be reminded that you need to take your meds. Seriously, do not mess with this kinda stuff.
I think I'll be ok now that I have laptop back and my morning routine back to normal. Having seen the downside to forgetting, I doubt I'll do it again. Those were some awful withdrawel side effects.
