Let's do something a little different today!

A coworker found this program and gave it to me today, called Pencil, which is a super easy steamlined animation application. Way easy. I whipped this up during my lunch break today by the seat of my pants. You can export the animation as individual .pngs, which I brought into photoshop and added some ( Read more... )

OH WILL YOU LOOK AT THAT. That is super-neat! You better believe I insta-downloaded Pencil, I've gotta try that thing out sometime. Gives me pangs for my old college animation classes and ol' Phil Young. I've been meaning to try some 2D stuff again.

I'm jealous of your animation class. My animation class was more like an AfterEffects Class, and the only crap I know how to do is stuff I picked up and halfway-remember from that giant Disney Illusion of Life book and too many years of pausing my Gargoyles tapes and going through them frame by frame so I could see more Brooklyn.

If I ever get some extra free time I would love to learn how to do this sorta crap the "proper" way. This program makes it pretty easy to do fun stuff, though! Nice and stripped down and simple.

That's pretty darn cool. Greg is a-walkin'. Walk, Greg, walk!
Too bad Skin Deep is a made-for-print comic, or else you could have an animated panel in there somewhere. Like the wide shot of the LA! It'd be like those silly moving photographs from Harry Potter.

That is so very very cool. I always wished I could do that! That program sounds really nifty.

This is nice! You should do more. But only if you want to :)

Pencil's cool too, for practice and stuff. It bites when you want to clean anything up or add sound or something, though (just a heads up) - but really, it rocks for a free program.
