It's not really a coming out piece, even if it might the first time he's said it in print.
It's more a being out story, where he can just drop it in as an aspect of himself that informs his relationship with the world. And that it awesome.

Also, does he have kids?! Matt Bomer and Sean Maher and Jodie Foster have kids and this was more interesting to me than their sexuality.
