Breathing, as it turns out, is NOT overrated

One of my coworkers is incapable of covering her mouth when she coughs. She sits opposite me. How do I gently (as she's my supervisor) ask her to cover her mouth, and point out that the cold she caught & passed on forced me to go to hospital for urgent treatment at the weekend?

*cough splutter gasp*

If you want to do it really politely without causing office tension, print up a memo (don't attribute it to anyone) that reads:

The chain is only as strong as the weakest link. So, too, this office is only as healthy as the sickest person. Be kind & thoughtful!

- use tissues if you are sick or sneezing,
- always cough into your hand or turn your face away from your co-workers when you feel a sudden cough or sneeze
- use hand sanitizer and wash your hands during restroom breaks

Let's all keep as healthy as we can this cold & flu season!

Then make copies and leave them (when no one is looking) at each desk.
