Because I've cracked mine from end to end. It doesn't hurt - the other side of my wrist is still sore but this bit feels fine ( Read more... )

Oh hell, love... I'm so sorry. That really fuckin' sucks. ;_; Fingers crossed that it doesn't end up inconveniencing you too much, and that you at least got some good stuff to deal with the pain.

You know, that's the weirdest thing - the bit that's broken doesn't hurt at all, and the soreness on the other side can be dulled with just paracetamol. The doctor called me very brave but there was no pain while she was working it. I think I completely lucked out on this one, even if potentially being off work is annoying.

Yeah, wow. 0_o Well, if you do end up off work, then at least enjoy the downtime, I guess?

Glad it doesn't hurt, though. ^_^

Ouch! And there's a wiki page on distal radius fractures that says the most common cause is a FOOSH which sounds much more fun than it actually is - Fall On Out Stretched Hand.

I have never officially broken anything in my life - and I don't want to either! Hurts too much.

**hugs you gently**

FOOSH sounds brilliant, the sort of acronym that should never be expanded. I sort of squished my arm by falling on it and trapping it between me and an ornate bedframe, and that's the only way I can think it's happened.

I'm starting to get suspicious that this isn't hurting. Might ask at the clinic if I could have damage just to the pain receptors in that area (no numbness and I can feel hot cold and pressure just fine).

Woohoo for your perfect record! May it stand forever because casts suck, even if you can draw on them.

Didn't I just wish you no broken limbs this year? YIKES!!!

Fear not, you are no harbinger of doom - this break happened in 2009, I just didn't realise until I went to the A&E yesterday. I like to think the lack of pain is 2010's way of saying things will be more comfortable this year.

Hubby had a motorcycle accident in NY a few years ago (yeah, before the more recent ones) and he broke a bunch of stuff, but didn't find out about the broken wrist until after he got home some weeks later.

Now that's reassuring, even if he had a bit more going on than I have!

Embarrassingly enough, this happened in 2009, four days ago, now. Freaked the ER doctor out a little that I'd been walking around with it for that long.

I think this is one last 'Fuck you' from the year of crap that was 2009.

Holy radials Batman! Does 2010 appreciate this welcome you're giving it? I hope so!

Sympathetic vibes streaming your way.

Vibes much appreciated. At least 2010 is relatively painless, break and all!
