Yeah we saw her last night! She's doing really well, we saw her do her level best to fend off a big 2-week old boy who was trying to push her off mama cat. All four paws in his face, and she didn't even stop nursing!
We're such suckers. Tortoiseshell cats are supposed to be good luck, right?
So nobody recognized her name. It's a C.S. Lewis reference!
(I am not the C.S. Lewis fan in my household. I am a Madeleine L'engle booster.) She's going to be the best cat you ever had, because she met you so early. She's going to love you like you were her parents. I remember once my flute teacher's cat had kittens, and I held one of them when it was a couple of days old, and the next time I came for a lesson (two weeks?), that kitten completely showed a preference for me. She tottered over and hung out in my lap, when the others were pretty indifferent. In conclusion, KITTEN!!!
Oo! Noted. I'll let you know what I think. I bet you're right about Hyoi, she's too young to totter but when I went to visit on Saturday she curled right up on my palm like it was a familiar place. I don't know how much of a sense of smell she has at this point, but that was definitely cute.
Nobody could ever be MORE awesome than General, I mean how often do you pick up an adult stray and have him become a lap kitty almost instantly? A lap kitty who doesn't mind car travel or changes of residence??! But Hyoi is bound to be more cuddly and less aloof. Hope they learn to get along.
We were terrified they'd been hit by those tornadoes, since Jed and Sallie (the rescue people) live RIGHT DOWN THE STREET from one of the really badly hit areas. They were lucky. But they're having trouble with national guard restricting access to their neighborhood right now.
