Angst Celty/Shinra anonymous May 31 2010, 13:29:43 UTC
Celty/Shinra.

No fluff. No fucking. I want pure angst.

Celty gets her head back, and Shinra's theory is correct; she is not the headless rider we all know and love, and she's packing to go back home, back to Ireland.

Don't break my heart Anon. Shatter it to pieces.

Bonus: If you include a backstory for Celty explaining her personality difference, then I will LOVE YOU FOREVER.

I'm not really sure this is what OP wanted... but this is what I came up with. I hope you like it.

I can still picture him clearly.

He was one of those few who could look lost and broken in a romantic way--who could wear worn clothes and cracked glasses, be sickly thin and pale, with an insomniac's dark bags under their eyes, and yet somehow look dignified and not pitiful at all. He had an air of old man who had and lost everything, which belied his shocking youth till you took a closer look. He was an Asian, which was rare enough in such a small village far from tourist spots, but it was not his ethnicity that made him stood out at that local pub. It was the aura of a doomed man that surrounded him like some sinister spell. Had he been there a few centuries ago, no one would have doubted that he had been enthralled by a leanan sidheBut this picture must be more a product of my imagination than a fact. It was more than two decades ago and I was only five. I was also very excited, in a way that only children can be, first time ( ... )

Like the Dullahan herself, the head had been searching for her. However, the head did not meet or talk to people as the body did: without the body, it could not even lift its eyelids, let alone speak. The head seemed to be in a death-like slumber, and yet in truth it was ever awake, relentlessly working its way back to its lost body. It did so by enthralling many a mortal and manipulating their heart for its own purpose. It ignited their fears and desires, making false promises for knowledge, love, or immortality with its powerful, invisible spells, but never fulfilling any of them. Those who were under its spell served the head without even suspecting it, till each of them was driven mad or destroyed. Thus passing the hands of many unfortunate mortals, the head found the body ( ... )

I totally started to cry at the end when he said he came there to die ;___;

Beautifully written, and so sad too.

Oh, Anon, you have completely broken my heart. Gaaahhhhh,

“Dullahan comes to the people who are going to die soon,” he said. “If he could find where she was and stayed there, he'd see her one more time--when he was about to die.”

I'm torn between "D'AAAAWWWW" and crying.

This was just beautiful.<3

D'aww, anon, you make me sad. :( "I almost did not recognize him." /sniff/ Also, "And he smiled--a wistful but real smile that made me realize how young he was and how handsome he must have looked before he had fallen like this." Poor Shinra. Though it's pretty easy to realize this is exactly what would happen if she ever did leave.
